About DUC

DUC - Dutch Unique Ceramics was founded in 2018: the result of a beautiful journey. After a tumultuous time, as everyone experiences at some point in their lives, I was searching for a passion to give more meaning to my life. During my annual stay at Emerson College in Forest Row, England, I discovered a shop with various handmade items. I fell in love with the wind chimes made of paper clay and the small, handmade, crooked cups. After reading an article about the negative effects of suppressing creativity, I realized:

"The creative person I was has given life to 2 beautiful children. Raising them was a wonderful experience full of energy, but it required my full attention. They are now beautiful independent individuals, and it's time for a new challenge to unleash my creativity."

I searched for the recipe for paper clay on YouTube. Among all the videos, I came across a video of a Japanese man throwing a porcelain teapot on a pottery wheel. My heart started beating faster, and I felt a special sensation in my stomach: this was my passion. After a search of 7 years, I had finally found what I truly loved!

And so it all began...
